Picnic in the Park!

It was a beautiful evening for LFE families to bring their dinner, enjoy the park and talk among friends! Another great FREE event from LFE PTA!

 

 

 

Year in Review

Thanks to everyone who helped make it a great year!

 

 

Sweet Treats & Sonic Drinks

On Thursday teachers & staff had sweet treats, and today the hospitality committee delivered Sonic drinks to them!  Trying ordering, picking up & delivering over 50 Sonic drinks someday…it is not an easy task!!  Our hospitality committee ROCKS!

 

 

Teacher Appreciation Week

LFE PTA treated teachers and staff to a week full of good fun and lots of fun to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week! Trail Mix Bar, Chipotle and Sub Sandwiches were just a few of the treats!

Staff Appreciation

PTA treated our amazing administrative assistants and resource aides to lunch & a little gift to thank them for all the great things they do for us & our kids!

 

 

Award Winning PTA

Thanks to the officers — Sara Sinks, Jalonna Bowie, Jen Upton, Jennifer Baker, Sheila Haines, Jill Von Fange, Ann Rasterfor & Holly Bond — as well as all the committee chairs for making our PTA GREAT!  PS – rumor has it we were the only chapter in Lee’s Summit to get Blue Seal and one of 2 in the entire state to win Parent Education & Enrichment Award!

 

 

Parent Hot Topic

Thank you to our very own LFE parent Dr. French from Children’s Mercy Hospital for speaking at our Parent Hot Topic class last evening.  Both parents & 5th & 6th grade students were in attendance.  Dr French highly recommends the resources from https://kidshealth.org.

Basketball Nets

PTA purchased nets for the basketball goals on the LFE playground. We love to see the kids playing outside!

 

 

Meet Loula!

Meet Loula, our very own calf on the Shatto Milk Company farm!  Loula was born January 11, 2019 & we were able to name her by collecting 1000 Shatto Milk caps.  We think Loula is the cutest calf on the farm!

 

 

Bingo Night

SO MUCH FUN in one evening!  A room full of bingo players, 47 raffle items and 40 silent auction baskets made for one fun night at LFE!

MLK Day of Service

Thank you to all the LFE families who participated in our 5th annual Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service!  We were at John Knox Village, Wayside Waifs, Blair’s Foster Socks, Unleashed Pet Rescue.  We made blankets & Happy Kits for Children’s Mercy Hospital and over 140 cards for active military!

A fun student activity night at the Lee's Summit Aquatics Center on Friday night!

 

 

Hello 2019!

Our amazing hospitality committee put together Welcome Back Snack Bags with kind bars, gum, mints, chocolates and other snack items for our LFE staff & teachers!

Grandparents/Special Friends Breakfast

This morning hundreds – and we mean hundreds! of Grandparents and Special Friends came to LFE this morning for breakfast, to hear the Stallion Singers perform and see the classrooms.  Thanks to our wonderful teachers who had the classrooms & student work ready to show off!

 

 

Emergency Preparedness

Another successful Parent Hot Topic event was held tonight for Dads and Grandfathers! Our speaker talked about ways to be ready should an emergency or disaster strike.

 

 

Holly Festival Donation

Each year LFE PTA donates a basket to the Holly Festival. This event benefits Lee's Summit CARES.

The weeds were winning!!!  Until 9 families spent several hours trimming, weeding, edging and planting to prepare for the new school year! Thank you!

 

 

Lounge Redecoration Project

The secret summer project was revealed to the teachers and staff!  Mrs. Hassler, the PTA officers along with Matt & Ashley Schlicht cleaned, painted and decorated the lounge under the design of Ashley.  We think it turned out great & hope the staff loves it!

 

 

Bathroom Art Project

PTA spent the summer working on a surprise for our Stallions when they return. Some inspiration when they return!

Thank you Custodial Staff!

A BIG THANK YOU TO LFE CUSTODIANS Nicki, Walter, Lauren & Kristen! All summer they work behind the scenes making our school shine! Here are a few of the ways they make LFE ready for the first day of school…deep clean the carpets & restrooms, dust vents, replace light bulbs, and move classroom furniture. This summer they completely stripped the gym & cafeteria floor & refinished it to its original shine! It looks amazing!

The LFE PTA thanked them with a couple sweet treats; Sonic drinks & caramel bars!
