Thank you Caden Chism for selecting LFE to complete your Eagle Scout project!  You & your workers did an amazing job on the bus lane!  Supplies & shrubs were purchased by the LFE PTA.

School is out, but PTA is still in!

The PTA officers met for 4 hours last night to plan for the 2018-2019 school year!  We spend many hours over the summer preparing for a great school year!

 

 

6th Grade Recognition

Thursday, May 17th was a special night for our 6th grade Stallions during 6th Grade Recognition.  We wish all our 6th grade Stallions a bright, happy & successful future!

At LFE we invited Dr. Gary Boxer and educator Sue Boxer in to talk about the role technology plays in childhood development.  A very interesting & engaging evening!  This event wraps up the PTA’s 3 part series to help parents learn how to become better parents!

State PTA Convention

Carnival and Silent Auction

Thank you to the many parents, teachers, staff and all the amazing volunteers for making this carnival AMAZING!!  SO much fun was had by all!!  The silent auction brought in fund which will be used towards technology for the school!

PTA Founder's Day

Today we celebrated PTA Founder’s Day a little early with cookies for our amazing teachers & staff!  Founders’ Day (February 17) is when we celebrate the legacy and work of our founders—Alice McLellan Birney, Phoebe Apperson Hearst and Selena Sloan Butler—to better the lives of every child in education, health and safety.

Thank you to our teachers & staff for all YOU do to improve the lives and future of our children!

 

 

Taste of Lee's Summit

We donated this amazing basket for the Taste of Lee’s Summit silent auction.   In recognition of LS Education Foundation’s 25th birthday, the theme is “Celebrating 25 Years of Generosity.”  Every bit of the money raised that evening goes right back into our students’ classrooms through PEAK Grants which teachers apply for annually and for additional technology like ongoing Chromebook support!  Last year, the Foundation provided over $155,000 to teachers and classrooms across the district!

MLK Day of Service

THANK YOU to the many families who spent part of MLK Day working in our community as part of the 4th annual LFE MLK Day of Service!  We had families working from home making Sweet Cases for foster kids, fleece blankets for Children’s Mercy Hospital & Jefferson Health Care nursing home.  We had families at Wayside Waifs, John Knox Village, Blair’s Foster Socks & Harvester’s.  Families also came to the school to create cards for active military and hospitalized children.  Thank you for making it a day ON!  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?'” 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Splish Splash!

A fun student activity night at the R-7 Aquatics center for LFE families last night!  Kids jumped, swam, dove & played for 3.5 hours.  We had some very hungry & tired kids on the way out!  This event was intended to build community and is not a fundraiser for PTA.

 

 

Welcome 2018!

The PTA hospitality committee welcomed back teachers & staff this chilly morning with breakfast.  Thanks to all the volunteers who made this morning happen!

Grandparent & Special Friend Breakfast

Over 900 Grandparents and Special Friends gathered at LFE this morning for breakfast, Stallion Singers performance and tours of the classrooms.  We love showing off our amazing school & teachers!

 

 

Lee's Summit CARES

Did you know that LFE PTA donates a large gift basket for the LS Cares Holly Festival each year?  Our basket this year was “getting ready for the holidays” and filled with Norwax products.  This event benefits both the DARE program and Lee’s Summit Cares.

 

 

Parent Hot Topic - Internet Safety

Many LFE parents gathered at the Lee’s Summit Police Department on Tuesday night to hear two detectives and an officer speak at our first Parent Hot Topic seminar.  It was eye-opening, frighting and very informative!  All parents of tween/teens should attend this class!  LS Cares will offer the class again in the spring & we will post about it.

Falloween Fun!

LFE PTA pays for the Falloween Parties in the gym so all kids can have a fun and equitable party!  This year was very fun with games, dressed up teachers, the annual costume parade & a forecast of snow flurries for tonight!

 

 

 

Trunk or Treat!

The weather didn’t scare us away from having a good time!  We had tons of candy, tons of dancing, tons of adorable costumes, tons of scary costumes and tons of happy LFE families!!  Thank you for a great event!

 

 

 

 

Parent-Teacher Conference Meals

Did you know PTA has a hospitality committee that organizes meals for our teachers & staff during parent teacher conferences? Some of the items are purchased from PTA funds and many are donated by parent volunteers!  Thank you teachers & staff for your dedication to our kids!

PTA Reflections Winners

 

 

Day of Reading

A huge thank you to our mystery readers for making our day of reading such success! Kindergarten through second graders were surprised by parent readers.  Members of our community and some retired staff read to third through sixth graders.  Dr. Rostine even made a visit to 6th grade via google hangout! What a wonderful day of reading for our final day of the Stampede to Read! Raffle winners, principals for the day, and classes with the highest amounts in pledges will be announced on Monday as well as our total raised. There are some pledges that haven’t been paid and we are close to our goal! Let’s guarantee that Mrs. Hassler kisses that pig and get those pledges in on Monday! If you forgot to send in your money, we are making a final request for that! Dairy Queen coupons will go home on Monday as well as the pig key chains for the classes that didn’t get theirs. Thanks for all you do to make this school so great! Go Stallions!

Some hard working PTA parents, teachers & principal working to get the student directories done during the October PTA meeting!  Join us at the next PTA Meeting, Thursday, November 2 at 2:45 pm in the school conference room.  We alternate between day & evening meetings in hopes to reach more parents & teachers!

Back to School Social

First Day of School - Yahoo Boohoo

Students & parents were excited to start the school year this morning!  Kindergarten parents, Mrs. Hassler and PTA board members gathered in the library this morning for the annual Yahoo BooHoo event.  Welcome back everyone!

And the PTA hospitality committee baked, cooked and purchased lunch for the teachers and staff who were hard at work preparing for our students to arrive tomorrow!

 

 

Meet Your Teacher Night 2017

Meet Your Teacher night was a whirlwind!  Selling apparel, PTA memberships, having committee sign ups, unloading supplies and meeting our wonderful teachers!  The start to another busy year!  The hospitality committee delivered treats to the teachers and staff this afternoon to say Welcome Back!   Congrats to Megan Smothers for winning our apparel gift certificate!

Five families came out on Saturday morning to trim bushes, pull weeds & edge the sidewalks to prepare for Meet Your Teacher night & the first day of school!  Thank you PTA volunteers!!  Bring on the school year!

Class of 2030 - Welcome New Stallions!

On Saturday, July 29th Mrs. Hassler and the PTA met with the newest Stallions on the Farm!  We enjoyed our playground and answered questions for parents.  Welcome Class of 2030 to the farm!
